Right now I am working with Rockingham Community College Small Business Center assisting small business owners with their businesses. We provide free counseling, seminars, and information to existing business owners, as well as, folks interested in starting a business. Twice a year we have an intensive training program called “How To Start/Stay in Business. This is a ten week session with extensive activities ranging from goal setting to breakpoint analysis.
I’m also excited to be a part of a new program in North Carolina called GATE. This is the acronym for Growing America through Entrepreneurship and is geared to assist displaced workers who have an interest in becoming business owners.
We’ve set this blog up to stay in touch with students and clients. My goal is to create an interactive environment where we can exchange ideas… I’ll be posting frequently about business information and ideas. I hope you enjoy and most importantly comment. Your thoughts will create solutions!!!!

Debi – Thanks for posting the SBTDC event that took place March 15 in Asheville. It was well worth the price of admission to meet so many people in the same boat and to be introduced to the basics of how to start doing business with local, state and federal government.
I would recommend it to start ups and new business owners next year. Well worth the $70. It will be in RTP in 2011 and back in Asheville in 2012.
